Graduation Day Sweats

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

Graduation day is fast approaching. The season is already upon us; everywhere you see school children (some of them won’t be that for very long) strutting about excitedly, some can be seen quietly crying in the corner, some are clearly holding their tears back, so much so that you can see your own reflection in their eyes, and some are walking with their chins held up high, proud of their scholastic achievements. Everywhere you see the season of graduation is making its presence felt. But where did all the years go, you ask yourself. Wasn’t it only yesterday that you had that big fight with Elizabeth? But when you start counting, you show eight fingers; one for every year! And wasn’t just a couple of days ago that you had that big laugh about that something? This time, you show three fingers. Where, oh where, did all the years go? You never thought you and your mates would ever have to don those graduation caps and gowns; they have always been for the seniors! But, the more you look about you the more you realize that not only are you a senior now, you are at the fag-end of being a senior. Soon you will be presented with academic gowns for graduation and leather bound graduation diplomas and you will be, very politely, asked to leave the school premises.
Sure, that is not a pretty thought, especially if you are attached to your school and your school life. It is perfectly understandable if you are in that position. After all, you will never get to live the life of a school student, for being a student in college is different; it has its good bits, but it is different nonetheless. During such times, even the sigh of graduation caps and gowns can be nerve wrecking. My advice? Let the tears flow, it will do you good. Bottling up your fears and emotions is not a good thing. If you feel saddened at departing from school, then let it be known to the world. This time had to come sooner or later, and it comes in everybody’s life, so you are not alone. Sharing your inner feelings will help you connect with others who are on the same boat. Don’t be afraid to put on that dark graduation gowns and caps (caps and gowns for high school graduation tend to come in darker shades, but it is not a requirement). What lay behind you was full of joy, I am certain, but it does not do to live in the past and have no hope for the future. Look beyond the horizon and you will see good things waiting for you on the other side.
Remember, life on the other side of graduation can be as sweet as what lay before. It is the person that makes the moments, thus the fun moments will always come as long as the person is there to receive them.

Graduation Day – a Day Many Await

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

Both Bachelors’ and masters’ gowns in the United States are comparable to their counterparts in the United Kingdom, while bachelor’s graduation cap and gown are now considered to be worn closed, and all are slightest mid-calf length to ankle-length. The masters’ gown sleeve is four-sided figure and, though the base of the sleeve hangs down in the distinctive manner, it is rectangle cut at the rear part of the four-sided figure shape. The front piece has an arc cut away, and there is a cut for the wrist opening, but the rest of the arc is closed. The shape is redolent of the square-cut lairize built into many academic hoods (see, below). The master’s gown is considered to be worn open or closed.

Doctoral robes are generally black, although, a few schools use robes in the school’s colors because they are preschool graduation gowns and cheap graduation gown. The Code calls for the exterior shell of the hood to continue black in that case, however. In common, doctoral gowns are like to the gowns worn by bachelor’s graduates, with the adding up three velvet bands on the sleeves and velvet facing in a row in the front of the gown, the Code calls for these to be moreover black or the color chosen for the field of study in which the doctorate was earned.

On the other hand, it should be well-known that in the case of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), even if it is awarded for study in any number of fields, the dark blue velvet of philosophy is constantly used in spite of the particular field studied. The robes have full sleeves, as a replacement of the bell sleeves of the bachelor’s gown. Some gowns represent a necktie or cravat when closed, whereas others take an almost cape-like form. The exceptions are for men in a baccalaureate service, and in the national anthem (“The Star-Spangled Banner”), any sanction that may be vacant by a chaplain or other authority, and at the times of singing the alma mater if the local ritual requires it. It is considered to be worn open or closed in the frontage.

Headwear is a significant component of gown, and the academic costume does not complete without it. The headwear will differ with the level of academic success and, to some level, on the individual academic institution’s qualifications.
The mortarboard is suggested in the Code, and the material required matching the gown which you are wearing which is an important part. The exclusion velvet is kept back for the doctor’s degree only, seen in the form of a multiple-sided (4, 6, or 8) tam, but the four-sided mortarboard-shaped tam in velvet is what the Code seems too suggested here. The colour is black and no other colour.

Different Kinds of Office Partitions

Friday, October 29th, 2010

Whether it be an interior folding glass door and office partition walls, there are always a lot of kinds of office partitions that can be used – all of which depends on the availability of supplies and stick with the supplier, the taste of the person who is designing the office spaces, and the needs of the organization (such as how many people will be coming and the equipment that needs to be installed). But there are many kinds you can choose from, and from within these basic classifications, one can find even more designs and styles that will fit the office look that you had in mind.

What office partitions can you choose from?
One kind of office partitions are those that can be moved around. They cannot handle much weight since they are lighter than other dividers – simply because these dividers would be very had to relocate (which is totally the reason behind them being movable in the first place). But their distinct advantage is that they can make a room larger or smaller depending on the needs of the person or organization that is using the said space. This is also very advantageous for spaces that suddenly need to be made bigger in short notice.

There are also harder, more durable dividers. Usually made out of plasterboard material combined with a honeycomb core, these dividers can also be disassembled, but not as easily as the lighter partitions. There are also designs and features particular to this that also serve as fire retardants of sorts, as many people are also seeing the need to fireproof their wooden fixtures, such as that of some office partitions. This is also basic safety so that just in case, at least your office dividers are also fireproof.

There are also office partitions that are particularly designed to keep sound in. This is naturally used in recording studios, and production houses which need to keep things under wraps while it is still not being released to the public. The same principle applies to meetings and the like – it is unbecoming for managers and other bosses to be talking about big issues in the organization in the hearing of everyone, which is precisely why sound proof office divisions can really go a long way in keeping certain sections of the office quiet and not be a disturbance to other members of the company.

There are also partitions that can be moved adjusted – not only expanded – depending on the need. These kinds of office partitions are perfect for situations where the space needs to be used for different purposes at different times.

In the end you decide on the best kind of office dividers for your office space it is important to always be able to maximize your space while also being able to utilize the functionality and the productivity of the people who are working and using these said spaces.

Watch out for Short Stacks

Monday, October 25th, 2010

Watch Out For Short Stacks There are a few people that we should always be wary of at the everest poker table, for example anyone wearing a WSOP bracelet or whose last name is Moneymaker. While I am sure that you have trained yourself to notice the big spenders, I doubt that you put the same kind of attention into locating the low stake Everest players. However, I would strongly urge you to move your gaze away from the fancy piles of chips and focus instead on the players with less to lose. The thing about low stack players, the thing that makes them so useful to you, is the fact that these players are desperate to stay in the poker game. As a result of their dogged determination to stay in the game, low stacked players will almost always play ultra conservatively. They do not want to lose the few chips that they have less, so they will almost never bluff. You should use these standard playing styles against the low stacked players at your table. They won’t bluff or call if they are not holding something of value, so this is your chance to bluff big. At the very least you will end up stealing a few valuable blinds. At the best, your bluffing will pay off big as these short stacked players repeatedly fold.

Coin Flip Choice

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Coin Flip Choice Every poker player sometimes has to face the “coin flip” situation – calling a bet when you have two good cards, most commonly A-K, and go up against a smaller pair, such as pocket 10s. Any time you call with A-K, you’re probably doing a coin flip that has about a 50/50 chance of wining or losing. Learn to recognize the coin flip situation so you know what you are getting into before you proceed with a bet or call. Keep in mind the coin flip is much less threatening in a cash game than in a tournament at Everest. If you to have push in all your chips in a cash game, you can always buy more. In a tournament, the coin flip can end your game and bust you out. The key to coin flips is the most basic principle of solid poker: Know your opponent. Is this player a loose player and frequent bluffer who could be holding anything, including 7-2. Or is this a tight player who only plays strong cards and made pairs. Also consider whether there are other poker players behind you who might still enter the action. The 50/50 coin flip situation is a heads-up scenario. If there are others players who may stay in contention for the pot, then your hand’s potential to win shrinks.

That’s where Sky Lanterns come in. Sky Lanterns are harmless and easy to use and appear glorious at all moments during the day as well night.

Words are insufficient to express their effect, you truly have to see it to believe it. Patrons tag them as glowing wishes in the sky whereas others label them the romantic alternative to fireworks. However you describe them you can be confident they are like nothing you’ve ever witnessed before.

The most popular celebration where Sky Lanterns are used is in weddings. Socks for My Birthday

Monday, May 31st, 2010

I can remember when I was a kid that my birthday was a big deal to me. I used to ask for so many presents from my parents that it become overwhelming. For months ahead of time I would dream about getting the toys and sports equipment and what it will be like to have them. When I was twelve I really wanted a new baseball glove for little league so that I could catch the ball every time it was hit to me. The thought of putting it on my hand and how good it would work just made life so fun. When my birthday arrived I got the glove, and I got socks. Now that I am older I am sitting here thinking about how I got socks for each of my birthdays for my whole live. It is a good thing because now that I am older my lumbar spine and the muscles are giving me problems. I wear clean socks and use orthotics for my arch support. It is nice to have these new socks because they make my feet feel solid and safe. It also helps with keeping my feet smelling good because my wife really likes that. I only like white socks and my business friends always look at me strange when I show up to meetings with black pants, black shoes, and white sock, but they are in no place to judge me.
