The Easy Way to Change Your Dietary Habits
Friday, December 2nd, 2011Imagine this — you know it well. You devote time, energy and money for a body detox. The detox may have a harsh start because of detox issues that are inevitable and you may get grumpy while you’re drinking your detox drink while friends are indulging in their favorite foods, but by the completion of your detox, you feel wonderful and you’re glad you did it. And then shortly after your detox, the good feelings of well-being may subside and you find yourself sliding into familiar habits of detrimental eating. Before you know it, you are re-toxing your body.
The usual challenge we experience when completing a detox is transitioning effortlessly and, most significantly, changing our patterns of eating so that a detox is needed only one or two times yearly. The greatest change you can make for a healthier you is to make the move toward a healthful diet, making this a life-long way of eating.
Most people I talk to can’t imagine that. But keep in mind, moving toward a healthful diet can be a simple matter. If you only change a few things, consume more fresh fruit and vegetables — without sugar, sauces or dressings — and if you do nothing else, drink more water, plain filtered water. When such changes have been embodied, begin to reduce the offending foods, such as processed foods, fried foods, refined flour, sugar, dairy and beef. If you’re the type that finds it difficult to make huge life changes, then the tip is to focus on just one of the steps at a time, if that will help you stay with it.
